Pittsburgh's largest local candy company is getting even bigger.
The big picture: Canonsburg-based Sarris Candies is opening a new factory store and will offer guided factory tours for the first time in the company's 66-year history.
Zoom in: The new factory store will open June 1 at 135 Meadow Lane in Canonsburg, just a mile down the road from the original shop and ice cream parlor.
- Guided factory tours will start July 6, offering guests a closer look at the candy-making process from an elevated tour route inside the production facility, according to a press release.
Zoom out: Sarris, like many of Pittsburgh's local candy and chocolate makers, specializes in chocolate covered pretzels, specialty chocolates and bars, and other sweet confections.
What they're saying: "Guests will soon have the opportunity to learn more about our history, our process, and the care that goes into every piece of chocolate we make," said CEO Bill Sarris.
What's next: Factory tour reservations can be booked starting June 1.
