Italian eatery Cork & Crust to open at The Oaklander

Pop a bottle and grab a slice.

The intrigue: The Oaklander Hotel recently announced Cork & Crust as the new restaurant that will fill its downstairs space on Bigelow Boulevard.

Dig in: An Italian menu will feature locally sourced and fresh ingredients on pizza and pastas.

State of play: Cork & Crust has recruited executive chef Kristin Butterworth.

She has extensive experience in fine dining, including a stint at Nemacolin in Fayette County, and has earned three James Beard Award semifinalist nods.

What's next: Cork & Crust is set to open sometime in December, per a press release.
