Glamping comes to Pennsylvania state parks

• Each site comes ready with heat, A/C, power outlets, and outdoor hammocks. Guests can add on s'mores kits, cornhole, or a round of giant Jenga.

Zoom in: Reservations are now open at Pymatuning State Park in Mercer and Crawford counties and Laurel Hill State Park in Somerset County for next spring.

• Rates start at roughly $200 a night.

Zoom out: Timberline will have 61 fully outfitted sites spread across the eight parks, including Poe Valley in Centre County, Hills Creek in Tioga County, Codorus in York County, French Creek in Chester County, Hickory Run in Carbon County, Promised Land in Pike County.

Between the lines: Pennsylvania aims to keep crowds flocking to state parks after a record season that drew nearly 25 million visitors and a 30% surge in campground reservations following federal recreation closures.
