As tragedy struck Clairton, residents might want to seek solace in the city's slogan.
Flashback: The "City of Prayer" slogan originated as a protest against the Supreme Court's 1963 ban on school prayer.
But Mayor Richard Lattanzi said in 2011 that the slogan has taken on multiple meanings since then, and has been used to help combat decline and tragedy with a message of hope and perseverance.
