Thousands filled Downtown yesterday for the city's annual Pride parade and march, a kaleidoscopic celebration of LGBTQ+ visibility and resilience.
The big picture: Pride Month opened on a defiant note this year, as LGBTQ+ groups marched in protest of federal policies they say undermine inclusion and target their rights.
What they're saying: "It's a day for joy and community, which is important this year, particularly, with all the anti-LGBTQ legislation and rhetoric in politics," said Craig Humphries, who lives in the North Hills.
The bottom line: Pride's just getting started — parties and demonstrations are popping up in the region all month.
