Supersized spud headed to Pittsburgh

An imitation potato (faux-tato?) the size of a Winnebago is headed to the Westmoreland County Airshow June 21-22 at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport near Latrobe.

Why it matters: It's like the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, but a 4-ton tuber.

Zoom in: The Big Idaho Potato Truck rolls coast to coast with the 28-foot replica spud in tow each year to support charities, plug Idaho potatoes and serve up selfie ops.

By the numbers: If it was a real potato, it would take 7,000 years to grow and two years to bake, per the tour's website.

It could make nearly 1 million fries.
It would be 800 times heavier than the largest potato ever grown — 11 pounds.

The intrigue: Stay overnight in one of the tour's retired Russets at an Airbnb south of Boise.

If you go: Airshow tickets are $14 at Shop 'n Save through June 22; $20 at the gate.
