Downtown's newest park is now under construction.
Why it matters: Arts Landing will transform a 4-acre site from former parking lot and garage to a civic space complete with a great lawn, a new band shell, a visitor center with public restrooms, and a children's play area.
Driving the news: Crews began early teardown work yesterday at the former Goodyear building.
What's next: The park is still on schedule to open ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh next April, said Pittsburgh Cultural Trust CEO Kendra Whitlock Ingram.
Everything should be ready except for some landscaping, as trees can't be planted until May.
