PNC Park unveils new eats for 2025 Pirates season

Fans hungry for the start of the Pirates season can whet their appetite with a bevy of new food offerings coming to PNC Park.
Why it matters: PNC Park's views and aura have solidified it as one of the best ballparks in the country, and its unique food offerings have only given fans more reason to enjoy the park despite the Pirates' near-constant disappointment in the standings.
Driving the news: Pirates longtime food vendor Aramark announced Monday a slew of new menu items for the 2025 season, including popcorn-filled plastic bats, a baseball-shaped cup for cold drinks and a Pirate Parrot mask that comes with cotton candy.
Dig in: Aramark is also introducing treats that pay homage to some Pittsburgh classics, like ham barbecue and burnt almond tortes, which will be available at the Cannonball Stand, in section 146.
- Chipped ham empanadas are filled with barbecue chipped ham, cheddar cheese and pickles.
- Fried almond torte: Funnel cake batter dipped, fried and topped with raspberry sauce, icing and burnt almonds.
- Polish Cannonballs: Deep-fried croquettes of egg noodles, kielbasa, cabbage, bacon and cheddar cheese, and served with an herb crema dip.
What they're saying: Alison Birdwell, president and CEO of Aramark Sports and Entertainment, said the vendor-created menu items cater to local fans.
What's next: The Pirates open up PNC Park on Friday, April 4, against the New York Yankees.
