Things to do this fall in Warren County

What they're saying: The area has "become more of a year-round destination," especially in the fall, Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau spokesperson Scott Hutchinson tells Axios.

• "It's true with the growth of not only so many of our big events — Ohio Renaissance Festival, the Ohio Sauerkraut Festival, those kind of things, but also I think a lot of people, as the weather cools down and the colors start changing, flock to Ohio and our area in particular, for things like agritourism."

The big picture: The Renaissance Festival is underway, but there's plenty more happening.

• Waynesville Fall Fest runs weekends Sept. 19-Nov. 1, while Lebanon Country Applefest follows Sept. 26-27.
• Fall is the "sweet spot" for agritourism, Hutchinson says. Hidden Valley Orchards and Irons Fruit Farm in Lebanon, Blooms & Berries in Loveland and Windmill Farm Market in Springboro offer pumpkins, hayrides, shopping and seasonal treats.

Come October: Lebanon Oktoberfest runs Oct. 9-10 with German food and beer, plus a themed railroad ride.

• The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival takes over Waynesville Oct. 10-11 with sauerkraut creations, entertainment and hundreds of craft vendors.

And then there's Halloween:

• Kings Island's Halloween Haunt returns Sept. 25-Oct. 31.
• Brimstone Haunt brings the scares to the RenFest grounds, while Waynesville offers ghost tours and the LM&M Railroad offers family-friendly Halloween rides.

Last word: "People are catching on that there's so much going on in all parts of the county beyond just going to Kings Island," Hutchinson says.
