Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park in Hamilton packs more than 60 monumental sculptures across 470 acres of rolling hills, gardens, lakes and hiking trails — making it an easy place to get artsy with the fam.
What's new: Pyramid Hill has named Raphaela Platow interim executive director, effective Thursday.
- Platow most recently served as executive director of Louisville's Speed Art Museum and previously spent 14 years as director and chief curator of Cincinnati's Contemporary Arts Center.
The vibe: Museum, cool, outdoor scavenger hunt feel. The property has hiking trails, gardens, lakes and plenty of room to explore.
What to know before you go:
🔴 Look for the large red "Passage" sculpture by John Henry on State Route 128. It marks the park entrance and is among the monumental sculptures included in an ongoing restoration project.
👶 Bringing a stroller? Paved paths and roads run throughout the park, but Pyramid Hill cautions that several are on steep hills or uneven ground.
🧺 Pack a picnic. The park specifically encourages visitors to bring one. Snacks and drinks are also available for purchase at the Visitor Center, and there are picnic tables, shelters and scenic spots around the grounds.
🛺 Art Carts are available. Nonmembers pay $25 for the first hour and $20 for each additional full hour; members receive a 40% discount. Rentals are first come, first served and weather-dependent.
Regular admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for kids 5 and younger.
- Members get in free. Household memberships are $55 a year.
