The unexpected spot in Monroe for the best sopes around

I'm a sucker for Tex-Mex, and the best I've had lately came from an unlikely spot: the El Vaquero food truck at Treasure Aisles flea market in Monroe.
The sopes ($5 apiece) were packed with flavor — loaded with chicken, steak and carnitas, respectively.
- The red and green salsas on the side were almost too hot, but delicious.
The menu goes well beyond tacos and burritos.
- You'll find quesabirria ($15) with consommé for dipping, arroz con pollo ($14), elote ($5) and esquites ($5).
- There's also street-food favorites like salchipapas ($15) and tostilocos ($10).
Wash it all down with an agua fresca.
The vibe: We took our food into the food court, but there's also table seating in the parking lot.
- If leaning into the full food-truck experience, eat under the tent outside, where you'll also find a variety of drinks.
Don't want to brave the weather? There's usually an ordering stall just outside the food court.
- Place your order there, then head inside and they'll bring your food to you.
The best part: Either way, it's easy to hop between vendors and sample dishes from multiple booths.
Worth noting: Several Salvadoran food trucks are also parked near Treasure Aisles and nearby hotels.

- Next time you're wandering the market, stop by. Might even be worth the $2 to park by itself.
