One of Mesa's biggest musical exports is getting its own library card.
Driving the news: Jimmy Eat World and the Mesa Public Library are collaborating to mark 25 years since the hometown band's album "Bleed American" made them internationally famous.
- The library will release 7,500 limited-edition Jimmy Eat World library cards on Saturday.
🎫 The card looks like a concert ticket dated July 24, 2001, the release date of "Bleed American."
- The band helped design it.
Flashback: Jimmy Eat World formed in Mesa in 1993. The band's early stomping grounds included Mountain View and Westwood high schools and the Nile Theater.
State of play: More than three decades later, Jim Adkins, Tom Linton, Rick Burch and Zach Lind are still together and playing major stages.
- They've spent 2026 touring "Bleed American," including a Sept. 6 show at Chase Field with My Chemical Romance.
What's next: The library will also celebrate its 120th birthday this weekend. 11am-1pm Saturday at the Main Library.
