New Midwestern steakhouse serves lobster "cargot"

A new Midwestern restaurant known for comfort food with a flair opened in Paradise Valley this weekend.
Why it matters: Harry & Izzy's is one of two concepts the Indianapolis-based Huse Culinary is bringing to metro Phoenix as it makes the Valley a second home for its restaurant empire.
What to expect: Craig Huse, CEO of Huse Culinary, tells Axios Harry & Izzy's isn't "trying to be a Michelin star-rated restaurant."
- Instead, it values high-quality ingredients and an approachable presentation.
- "It's actually a classic American grill," he adds. "I call it an 'everyday steakhouse.'"
What to try: Huse recommends the St. Elmo shrimp cocktail ($25), which dates to the original St. Elmo Steak House. Fresh horseradish gives it its signature kick.
- Lobster "cargot" ($27) is the restaurant's take on escargot, made with lobster, garlic butter and havarti and served with Tuscan bread.
- Huse also recommends the filet mignon sliders ($8).

- Small bites: calamari, oysters, toasted ravioli and more.
Context: Huse Culinary, the restaurant group behind the 1902 St. Elmo Steak House in Indianapolis, has eight restaurants in the city.
The latest: Huse says it recently signed a lease for 1933 Lounge, a speakeasy-style upscale dining spot in Gilbert's Gilmore development that's set to open in late summer of 2027.
- His team is actively looking for a site for another 1933 Lounge in Scottsdale, with a targeted 2028 opening, he says.
The big picture: Huse Culinary joins a growing roster of Midwestern brands catering to Valley transplants and snowbirds craving a taste of home — from Columbus, Ohio-based White Castle to Chicago deep-dish-style pizza staples Lou Malnati's and Giordano's.
The bottom line: Come in for a club sandwich or a ribeye steak — Huse says "there's a little bit for everybody" at Harry & Izzy's.
