Plenty of people don't ride bikes. Some never learned.

• Kansas City isn't the biggest biking down, but recent efforts are encouraging more riders.

• A YouGov survey found 8% of adults don't know how, even though apparently the most recent data is from 2015.

What they're saying: My colleagues told me they never learned because they preferred indoor play to outdoor.

• Also, the potential for getting hurt proved a strong deterrent.

💭 My thought bubble: Did I fall down go boom many a time growing up? Absolutely. Somehow, that failed to phase me later in life.

• Some of my favorite trails include the Gillham Cycle Track downtown, Line Creek Trail in the Northland, Indian Creek Trail to the south, and Wyandotte County Lake and Swope Park for mountain biking.

Did you learn how to ride a bike? If not, why?

• If you did learn, do you still ride? Where do you go?
