Take your drinks on a bus to the Chiefs game

How it works: Riders pay $80-$85 to hop on at one of four hotel locations in the Crossroads and Crown Center.

• Alcohol is allowed onboard as long as it's not in a glass container, and tailgating gear like chairs, tents and grills can be stored underneath and set up around the bus at the stadium.

• The same bus takes riders back 45 minutes after the game ends, so you can leave items while attending.

By the numbers: The service has run for years in other markets, and it launched in KC for the Broncos game on Sept. 14, starting with 26 passengers. As of Sunday's match against the Chargers, it was up to 92 riders.

• The Chiefs are on a roll this year after a lackluster season last year, and Patrick Mahomes just tied Tom Brady for reaching 100 wins in 131 games.

What they're saying: "Visitors staying downtown who would otherwise need to rent a car, pay for parking at both their hotel and the stadium, or rely on rideshares" make up a big reason people ride, co-founder Axel Hellman tells Axios.

• But it's also open to residents who want to skip the hassle of figuring out transportation, he says.

What's next: The next Chiefs home game is against the Jets on Nov. 8.

• An additional shuttle is confirmed for Westport and Topeka, with other potential spots in Lawrence and across the metro needing more demand.
