Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce broke the NFL record for most yards after a catch yesterday in a 33-30 win against the Colts.

Why it matters: After a lackluster last season and concerns about his age, the 36-year-old star is showing up in a big way already this year.

By the numbers: Kelce surpassed former Rams and Colts running back Marshall Faulk for the record. Faulk had 6,230 yards; Kelce now has 6,288, per the Kansas City Star.

Kelce caught nine passes during the game for a total of 101 yards, including a touchdown.

What they're saying: Guys like Faulk "fueled my love for this game," Kelce said in a postgame interview.

"I love this team right now. We're in the zone."

What's next: The 2-0 Chiefs head to Miami to battle the Dolphins on Sunday.
