Dig in:Hemma Hemma Dinette opened in March on the ground floor of Lightwell KC at 1100 Main St. — a sister concept to Hemma Hemma in Waldo.
The daytime restaurant and bar make everything from scratch, pulling from retro diner culture and global flavors.
We came for a work meeting and stayed for breakfast.
What to try: The R.F.G.B. sandwich ($13), a sausage egg and cheese biscuit sandwich that felt like a shot put and tasted like heaven. It's worth the flaky mess, and the half Travis took home reheated well.
The avocado toast ($12) was thick-cut and scalloped with tasty veggies.
