We asked you where you want the new Royals stadium, and the results were clear: downtown.
Why it matters: The Royals are considering moving over to Kansas, but time is running out and such a move might not be very popular among fans.
By the numbers: Out of 107 responses, 63% voted for a Downtown/Near Downtown stadium.
The votes for Overland Park/Johnson County and a third option, North Kansas City/Clay County, were evenly split at about 19%.
The intrigue: The majority of responses (34%) came from Johnson County residents.
Jackson County (26%), Clay County (9%), "Other" (24%) and "I'd rather not say" (8%) made up the rest.
Driving the news: T-Mobile, which is headquartered at Aspiria in Overland Park, said in a statement Tuesday that it would have to move if the Royals built a stadium there, the Johnson County Post reported.
"Our campus supports over 3,500 T-Mobile employees, with growth plans, and cannot accommodate both our workforce and a stadium," the company said.
Between the lines: T-Mobile would prefer to stay in Overland Park, according to the statement, but with the stadium fight breaking the economic border war truce between Missouri and Kansas, there are no guarantees the Missouri side wouldn't try to woo over one of the metro's biggest companies.
What we're watching: A meeting between Kansas lawmakers to decide how the state will proceed is expected later this month.
