The turkeys are still frozen, but winter holiday pop-up bars are already booking up across the metro.
Why it matters: The most wonderful time of the year might have snuck up on you, but you still have options.
The big picture: Popular pop-ups around town came and went fast, such as Kingdom's Greetings at Arrowhead, which sold out the day reservations opened on Nov. 4.
- Conductor Club at Union Station is booked through Dec. 6 and hasn't released other dates, though another round of reservations will drop on Dec. 5, organizers tell Axios.
Meanwhile, these other pop-ups are hoping to make your nice list.
Glimmer
- The KC Zoo and Aquarium is getting in on the pop-up action. Its holiday GloWild light walk is back for its fourth year, and the exclusive bar is available for an extra charge ($15 per person includes a drink, $150 reserves an igloo) through Dec. 21.
Margaritaville's "Frosted" experiences
- The Frosted Reef pop-up bar ($10 per person) serves festive eats and drinks, and the enclosed Frosted Cabanas by the pool ($200 to $250 for groups up to 10) sport different themes and include hot chocolate and snacks.

Miracle Kansas City
- Two locations — on the Plaza (4807 Jefferson St.) and at Rockhill Grille (2000 Grand Blvd.) — open next week. Walk-ins ($10 cover) are welcome, and table reservations ($20 to 25) opened today.
- 💭 Travis' thought bubble: The Plaza location was where I had my first cocktail made with shaken egg white. It blew my mind.
Rhinestones & Reindeer
- Fountain City Winery is again host to an Apparition-designed pop-up, this time pouring cups of ambition along with singalongs and music bingo. Entry starts at $20 and runs through Jan. 31.
Tinsel and 'Tinis
- Union Station's pop-up bar inside Holiday Reflections runs for five nights in December and includes entry into the exhibit. Admission is $26, or $15 if you go during the last hour of entry from 10-11pm.
Between the lines: We made this list based on first-timers and places that truly feel like pop-ups. Other bars with holiday themes that are taking reservations include:
- The Holiday Hideaway at Chicken N Pickle
- Rec Deck the Halls at Boulevard
- Sippin' Santa at J Rieger's Electric Park
- Tinsel Town at Tom's Town
- Jingle Pop-Up Bar at KC Wine Co.
- The North Pole at Smoke Brewing Co.
The bottom line: Pop-up bars are one of Kansas Citians' favorite ways to imbibe holiday spirits.
