Here are some Veterans Day events in and around the KC metro perfect for connecting with the community and thanking those who served.

Veterans Day Ceremony at the WWI Memorial

When and where: Starts at 10am tomorrow at the National WWI Museum and Memorial.

What to know: Free public ceremony with remarks and music; veterans and active-duty service members get free museum admission and the public gets half-price that day.

Leavenworth County Veterans Day Parade

When and where: Starts at 10:30am in downtown Leavenworth, Kansas.

What to know: It's one of the nation's oldest Veterans Day parades and draws a huge community turnout.

Liberty, MO, Veterans Day Celebration

When and where: Begins tomorrow at 6pm at the Liberty Community Center.

What to know: The ceremony features a color guard, 21-gun salute, choir and keynote, and is free to attend.
