Happy birthday to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who turns the big 3-0 Wednesday.
The big picture: The NFL superstar has had a record-shattering time in Kansas City, making major moves both on and off the field.
- In honor of his birthday, here's a look back at his stunning career and expanding local footprint.

Sports: It goes without saying that No. 15 has scored his biggest achievements on the field, racking up three Super Bowl wins, five Super Bowl appearances, and seven consecutive AFC championship appearances in eight years as starting QB.
- Mahomes was also the youngest player in NFL history to win both a Super Bowl and the league's MVP award.
- He still has a ways to go to catch Tom Brady's stats, but he also has 15 more years to do it.

Business: Mahomes isn't just a figurehead for fans — he invested part of his $450 million, 10-year contract into KC's other top pro teams, becoming part-owner of the Royals, Sporting KC and the KC Current.
- "I love this city and the people of this great town," Mahomes said in a statement about the Royals investment. "This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community."
- The Texas native also used his influence to attract Whataburger, his longtime favorite Texas-based fast food chain. He is now part-owner of a massive franchise that, as of May, owned 29 stores across Missouri and Kansas.

Charity: The quarterback's nonprofit, 15 and the Mahomies, works to connect kids with reading and volunteering opportunities, as well as support for other charitable events and initiatives, such as The Big Slick.
- And his foundation's scholarship program gives $10,000 each year to 15 college-bound students in KC and Texas.
What we're watching: Mahomes' 20s have been remarkable, and if they're any indication of where he's heading, his 30s may be even more influential.
