Crowds formed on the Plaza on Monday to watch the filming of "Ted Lasso" and catch a glimpse of the actors as filming kicked off in Kansas City.

Spoiler alert: Axios reporter Abbey Higginbotham, who was on-site, saw KC's Jason Sudeikis sporting a Current shirt.

Why it matters: The beloved show about an affable coach from Kansas City is bringing home a lot of local pride with its fourth season, which is filming around town before shooting in London.

What we saw: Privacy tents were in place outside Potbelly Sandwich Shop, and bright lights illuminated the Johnny Was storefront, which was rebranded "Dazzle Me Moi" for filming.

Stars Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca) and Juno Temple (Keeley) were spotted at Gates Bar-B-Q on Sunday, the Kansas City Star reported.

Zoom out: In the show's fourth season, Lasso will be coaching a second division women's soccer team.
