The folks behind Huntsville's official Monopoly game received thousands of submissions, but they're keeping them close to the vest.
What they're saying: "It's been wonderful to connect with the suggested organizations, and so funny to see how everyone seems to know everyone in town," said Sarah Bowman, sales executive with Top Trumps USA, which is building the Monopoly: Huntsville Edition under license from Hasbro.
"It's going to make for a wonderful edition," she said.
The latest: "You'll have to stay tuned until March 2027 to see who is featured, but it will be many of the parks, museums and attractions that make the Rocket City so special," she said.
Bowman said the Monopoly team is "in the process of meeting individually with hundreds of Huntsville organizations to fill the board."
Catch up quick: The Huntsville edition was announced back in June, kicking off a five-week period for submissions that wrapped up in late July.
Once published, the game will be available via Amazon, Barnes & Noble and local stores.
Not counting the mainstay squares like Go, Jail/Just Waiting, Free Parking, Go to Jail, Chance, Community Chest and tax spaces, there's 28 to be filled with local Huntsville real estate.
What's next: "Once the board is filled, our design team will bring the game to life, before going to production (in the U.S.!) before our grand reveal event in March of 2027," Bowman said.
