Polls open at 7am today for a highly-anticipated primary that's been shaken up by U.S. Supreme Court rulings, but not for any races in the Huntsville area.
The big picture: Here's who's running in the biggest races on the ballot, so you can catch up before heading to the polls.
U.S. Senate
Vying to be the Democratic candidate for Senate: Dakarai Larriett, Kyle Sweetser, Everett Wess and Mark Wheeler.
On the Republican side: Seth Burton, Dale Shelton Deas Jr., Jared Hudson, Steve Marshall, Barry Moore, and Rodney Walker.
- Incumbent Sen. Tommy Tuberville is running for governor.
- Morgan Murphy is on the ballot, but dropped out of the race in March.
U.S. House District 5
Republican incumbent Dale Strong is unopposed in the primary, but three Democrats are vying to challenge him in November: Candice DuVieilh, Jeremy Devito and Andrew Sneed.

Governor
Republicans are fielding three: Ken McFeeters, "Alabama" Will Santivasci, and Tuberville.
Democrats have six candidates: Will Boyd, Jamel J. Brown, Yolanda Rochelle Flowers, Doug Jones, Chad "Chig" Martin, Nathan "Nate" Mathis.
Lieutenant Governor
On the Democratic side: Phillip Ensler and Darryl D. Perryman.
The Republican ballot is more crowded: Wes Allen, Pat Bishop, George Childress, Rick Pate, Stewart Hill Tankersly, Nicole Jones Wadsworth and John Wahl.
Attorney General
Three Republicans are running to face lone Democratic candidate Jeff McLaughlin for attorney general: Pamela L. Casey, Jay Mitchell and Katherine Robertson.
State Legislature
For Senate District 2, three Democratic candidates are up: Rudolph Valentino Drake, Alex House, Guy Sotomayor.
- John Roberts is the only Republican on the primary ballot for the seat being vacated by GOP incumbent Tom Butler.
In Senate District 7, incumbent Republican Sam Givhan is running unopposed in the primary, and will face Democratic candidate Jared Sluss in the general election.
For Alabama House District 20, Mo Brooks is challenging incumbent James Lomax.
Alabama House District 25 has two Democrats vying for the spot on November's ballot: Damon Eubanks and Allison T. Montgomery.
