Ditto Landing's event center is moving forward apace, set for completion this fall.
Why it matters: Madison County and Ditto Landing are working to establish a recreation and entertainment anchor on the Tennessee River in the southernmost part of the county.
Catch up quick: Work started last year on Ditto Landing's redevelopment of the former State Docks warehouse.
The reportedly $13.2-million project will become one of the largest indoor event spaces in the county, per an announcement Monday, with space for up to 900.

The latest: In a release Monday, the county says, "the new venue will feature multiple spaces designed to support restaurants, indoor gatherings and outdoor events."
Project leaders, it says, are looking for restauranteurs and other potential partners, to collaborate on the buildout of the restaurant space.
Context: In August, Brandi Quick, executive director of the Huntsville Madison County Marina and Port Authority, which operates Ditto Landing, told Axios "the interest (in Ditto Landing) is incredible."
What we're watching: Quick also noted last year that the port authority owns 200 acres on the Morgan County side of the river, where big-picture ideas are taking shape.
