The Huntsville City Football Club opens its home schedule Saturday with a 7pm match against regional rival Chattanooga Football Club.
State of play: The Boys in Blue are off to a rocky start this season after starting 1-0 with a 3-1 win over Orlando March 2.
They've followed that up with losses to Crown Legacy FC and Atlanta United.
Chattanooga is also off to an uneven start, with a win over CT United FC, but losses to Crown Legacy FC and Chicago Fire FC II.
The latest: Chad Emerson, former CEO of Downtown Huntsville, Inc. and more recently HCFC managing director, has taken a similar job upriver in Chattanooga.
Emerson, now Chattanooga FC's chief business officer, told Axios Wednesday that he'll be in town for the home opener Saturday, just on the visitor's side.
What they're saying: "Hopefully we can build on this rivalry and have some good matches," he said.
