Huntsville's Mardi Gras Parade takes to the streets downtown tomorrow.
The big picture: The 2026 Mardi Gras Parade kicks off at 2:30pm, with road closures starting at 2pm, per a statement from Huntsville Police Department.
The parade is expected to wrap up around 4pm and roads open soon after.
New this year is an expanded throw zone that starts at the corner of Holmes Avenue and Spragins Street, then turns right to go the "wrong way" down Washington Street before turning left along Eustis toward Greene.
Catch up quick: "We depend on this parade to get us through the year," Marydae Sneed, executive director of the Blount Hospitality House, told Axios.
The parade raises funds for the Blount Hospitality House, on Madison Street, which houses family members while their loved one is in the hospital, and hosts about 500 people a year, she said.

How it works: Some pro tips from Sneed include entering the throw zone at your own risk.
For folks with small children, it may be a better option to locate at the tail end of the throw zone closer to Greene Street, but you'll risk depleted stocks from the throwers as well.
Zoom in: The weather is looking mostly cooperative, with a high of 64 and cloudy conditions, but a 20% chance of rain after noon.
