Huntsville International Airport is dressed up for the season, but still under construction, and offering folks traveling for the holidays some tips for a smooth trip.
Why it matters: No one wants to be stuck at the airport on Christmas, or miss their flight to see family for the holidays.
Zoom in: First, have a valid ID. Starting Feb. 1, 2026, TSA will start fining $45 if you don't have a REAL ID, but travelers can still use a passport or another acceptable form of ID to fly domestically.
Second, remember the 3-1-1 liquids rule is still in effect, and it counts for jam, sauces, wine and snow globes, HSV notes.
And lastly, if traveling with gifts, they must be left unwrapped or placed in bags or boxes with removable lids.
Catch up quick: Available flights are up 8% at HSV, per the airport, though the TSA expects 1.5% fewer flyers than last year, projecting to screen 43.3 million Americans in the next two weeks.
