Huntsville's music scene had a big 2025.
Why it matters: The city's efforts to strengthen its music ecosystem have garnered national attention, elevated local artists and bolstered the local economy.
Catch up quick: The Huntsville Music Office held its last quarterly meetup of the year Nov. 20 at the Trilogy Hotel downtown, looking back at and celebrating some big wins.
- That includes Fast Company naming Huntsville one of the world's most innovative companies for how it's leveraged music and the signing of a bill in Montgomery allocating $2 million per year for music incentives.
What they're saying: "Every achievement we're celebrating is the result of hundreds of people across this city working together to make Huntsville a premier music destination," said Matt Mandrella, Huntsville music officer, in a release.
By the numbers: The Music Office tracked more than 2,220 events on its calendar, compared to 1,800 in 2024 and directly supported more than 185 events, per a release from the city.
- Huntsville Music Month in September saw more than 250 events, Jazz in the Park saw more than 27,000 attendees and 805 After 5 more than 15,000.
The bottom line: "Musicians and music entrepreneurs are moving here, and more importantly, they're staying here," Mandrella said. "They feel supported, connected and part of something bigger."
