The Caring House has moved into a new, larger space at 2812 Drake Avenue SW in Huntsville.
Why it matters:The Caring House, the only place that provides bereavement services to children 3-18, can now make a bigger impact as the community continues to grow.
Zoom in: The new location is almost three times larger than the previous space, per an announcement.
The Caring House provides a therapeutic environment with evidence-based methods like art expression, therapeutic play and sharing sessions, as well as comfort and support from facility dog Paxton.
It also provides crisis intervention and school-based grief groups.

What they're saying: "Grief is a natural process but children need special tools to manage it safely and healthily," said Jill Falling, grief/trauma therapist and Caring House Manager, in a statement.
"Thanks to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and our community donors," The Caring House can "provide a safe space where children can process pain, ensuring they do not face this journey alone," she said.
The bottom line: The support children and teens get at The Caring House helps reduce risks of long-term mental health challenges in bereaved children like depression, and behavioral and academic issues.
