Huntsville Music Month kicks off in September, with a lineup that organizers say will take the event to the next level.
Why it matters: The event is increasing Huntsville's ever-growing music reputation and providing plenty of things to do, while also supporting local musicians and bringing people and dollars to local businesses.
- "That's what makes music such a powerful part of economic development," Mayor Tommy Battle said in an announcement. "It's not only about entertainment, it's about jobs, investment and opportunity."
Driving the news: With programs like the free Launchpad concerts and the Huntsville Music Office's partnership with AMERICANAFEST in Nashville, "we're showcasing our talent on the biggest stages yet," music officer Matt Mandrella said in the news release.
- "We're expanding networks, creating professional opportunities and reinforcing Huntsville's growing status as a music city," he said.
