Whether or not people are buying craft beer like they were pre-pandemic, Huntsville's big taproom mainstays are holding steady, too.
Why it matters: That's good news, since the Brewer's Association report notes that for the first time since it began tracking the statistic, taproom closings outpaced taproom openings in 2024, 232 to 219.
Zoom in: Huntsville breweries Yellowhammer and Straight to Ale, the anchors at Campus No. 805, and Gadsden-based Back Forty's expansive South Huntsville campus are musts on any local to-do list.
Smaller local breweries like Green Bus Brewing, Chandler's Ford and Catch 25 are central on Downtown's Craft Beer Trail, which highlights nine local breweries, including Innerspace, Mad Malts and Fly Huntsville.
Caveat: Huntsville's craft breweries have felt market pressures, too, with several closing their doors in the past few years.
