Peak of Summer: Plan your Independence Day

Summer's main event is here. July 4 is Friday, but events run all week.

Why it matters: There's plenty to choose from around Huntsville, but here's a quick sample of the options to help you plan:

• Independence Day Celebration at MidCity District: events all weekend, including live music, food and a Patriotic Glow Party following the fireworks July 4.
• Star-Spangled Celebration at Dublin Park: Catch an early one in Madison on Thursday, July 3. It starts at 5pm with fireworks around 9pm.
• Freedom 5K and Independence Mile: Exercise your freedom to sweat and get active at Big Spring Park at 7am July 4.
• Live music at the Casual Pint: Take in some tunes from Andy Hall before catching the fireworks from The Village of Providence's event July 4-6.
• Fourth of July Patio Party at Furniture Factory: Have a retro 4th with 80s cover band Wild Life in the Working Class.

⚾️ The Rocket City Trash Pandas have a whole week of events lined up.

• The 4th of July Extravaganza runs from 5:30pm-9pm at Toyota Field, with the away game vs the Knoxville Smokies on the video board, live music, yard games, kids' activities and food, and of course fireworks which you can watch from the field.
