Huntsville residents have options when it comes to grocery shopping, but grocery spending data is showing which ones they favor.
Why it matters: Walmart and Publix have a firm grip on Huntsville's grocery market, representing more than half of local grocery spending in 2024.
- That doesn't mean there's no more room in the market, evidenced by Food City's new store on Governors Drive that opened a few weeks ago, part of a $90-million effort announced in 2023 for the Virginia-based chain to open six stores here.
