Mob-themed pizzeria debuts in downtown Hollywood

Context: It's the first restaurant in the U.S. for the owner, who simply goes by Roberto and previously ran street food spots in Italy.

• He tells Axios that he fell in love with Hollywood at first sight.

The vibe: The restaurant is decorated with exposed brick, black leather seats, brass sconces and portraits of iconic TV and movie mob families.

• You can sit at tables named "The Corleone," "The Soprano," or "The Al Capone."
• To fully immerse in the culture, servers are dressed in 1920s outfits: ties, trousers, fedoras, shoulder holsters and suspenders.
• Expect theatrics, karaoke and even performances by Roberto himself.

Dig in: The menu features several Italian classics like Lasagna della Mamma, eggplant parmesan, along with several calzones and pizzas with mob-themed names like "La Mafia" or "The Hitman."

• Pizzas are available deep-dish or Neopolitan-style.
• The dough is fermented for 72 hours.
• The lunch menu also offers focaccia with a variety of toppings and mini panzerotti — the Italian version of an empanada.

🚗 If you go: The Goodfellas Pizzeria, 1917 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood.

• Pizza is served until 2am daily.
