Hidden, invite-only speakeasy debuts in downtown Hollywood

Your next date spot just opened in downtown Hollywood.

State of play: The Brooklyn Room is a new, invite-only cocktail bar hidden inside the restaurant Common Room near Young Circle.

How it works: Guests enter the secret speakeasy by pulling on the frame of a bookshelf in the hallway leading to the restaurant's restroom.

But access is handled exclusively by the manager.
If you want to score an invite, you'll want to become a regular at Common Room or any of BOL Hospitality Group's restaurants.

The vibe: Given the name, expect cocktails inspired by Brooklyn's neighborhoods and iconic areas, BOL Hospitality Group explains.

Music will vary each night, ranging from old school hip hop to jazz.

Zoom out: The hospitality group's other concepts include Bae Korean Grill, Social Room, The Bōl and Davidoff of Geneva, with Zhō on the way at Dania Pointe.

Thursday-Saturday (8pm-2am).
