Key races to watch in Hollywood on primary night

It's primary Election Day in Broward County!
Why it matters: Voters are heading to the polls to elect their next representatives at the federal, state and local levels.
Here are the three races we're watching closely Tuesday in Hollywood:
Broward County Commission
District 6, which includes parts of Dania Beach, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Pembroke Park and West Park, is the only open seat on the county commission.
- There are four candidates vying to replace Beam Furr, who is term-limited: former county commission staffer Eugen Bold, Hollywood City Commissioner Caryl Shuham, Dania Beach City Commissioner A.J. Ryan and businessman Jeffrey Jones.
U.S. House
There are seven candidates running for U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson's seat, which covers Hollywood down to northern Miami-Dade County.
- Marshall L. Davis Sr., managing director of Miami-Dade's African Heritage Cultural Arts Center.
- Oliver G. Gilbert III, outgoing Miami-Dade County commissioner.
- Shevrin "Shev" Jones, outgoing Florida state senator.
- Kendrick Meek, grandson of the late U.S. Rep. Carrie Meek.
- Physician Rudolph Moise.
- Former Miami-Dade Commissioner Jean Monestime.
- Attorney Roderick Vereen.
Two Democrats and five Republicans are running in the newly formed district that runs along the east coast
Democrats
- U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz.
- Democratic Socialist and activist Oliver Adams Larkin.
Republicans
- Businessman Dan Franzese.
- Raven Harrison, a 2022 Texas congressional candidate.
- Joseph "Joe" Kaufman, a counter-terrorism expert.
- Military veteran and former state representative George R. Moraitis.
- Former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer.
Zoom out: South Florida is also watching the District 20 race, where U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is running as the only white candidate in the primary for the historically Black district.
