In her new PBS documentary, "Legacy on a Plate: The Restaurants That Built South Florida," award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein highlights eight South Florida food institutions.
Why it matters: Her tour brought her to the 70-year-old Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor in Dania Beach.
Flashback: If you grew up in Broward County, you probably went to a birthday party at Jaxson's where you begged your mom to order you their signature "Kitchen Sink."
The latest: Bernstein's new doc had me reminiscing about my own childhood memories at Jaxson's eating ice cream or riding the toys outside.

Yes, but: I don't remember exactly what I would order, but I'm guessing some sort of sundae with scoops of chocolate, Oreo or vanilla.
🫣 Definitely no fruity flavors and no cherry topping because I don't like fruit.
