A quietly created Instagram profile suggests Cerebral Brewing could be headed to downtown Parker as part of the brewery's Colorado expansion.
The big picture: The acclaimed craft brewer, known for its hazy IPAs and experimental beer program, already has three locations in Denver and Aurora, and a Parker outpost would mark its farthest sojourn yet.
- Cerebral has spots in West Highland, Congress Park and Aurora Arts — on east Colfax Avenue in northwest Aurora.
Behind the scenes: The Instagram page @cerebral.parker was created this month, according to its "about this account" section.
- The brand's featured brain logo includes the words "Downtown Parker."
- The profile includes a "🤫" emoji and a link to Cerebral Brewing's website.
- The account has not posted yet.
- The account follows five feeds — all tied to Cerebral Brewing.
The intrigue: Cerebral's Congress Park, West Highland and Aurora Arts Instagram feeds follow the @cerebral.parker page, but not Cerebral's primary profile.
Why it matters: Landing a brewery with Cerebral's reputation would be a major win for Parker, which is betting big on a downtown overhaul that will see nearly $400 million in projects on Mainstreet through 2030.
- Poulette Bakeshop, a nationally acclaimed French bakery, relocated to Mainstreet this spring as part of the Juniper development.
Between the lines: During a downtown tour last month, Parker economic development director Weldy Feazell told Axios that a "very popular" brewery would occupy ground-floor space at the $103 million East Main development — across Mainstreet from the PACE Center.
- Feazell declined to name the brewery.
- A rendering presented during a March Parker Town Council study session labeled the western end of the project as "brewery."
East Main is part of Confluence Companies' $300 million development plan in downtown Parker.
- The project includes 309 apartments, 19,000 square feet of commercial space and a rooftop pool.
- Other planned businesses at East Main include a boutique, a coffee shop, an ice cream parlor, a pilates studio, a wine tasting area and a restaurant, per the March presentation.
What they're saying: Next to nothing.
- A town spokesperson said in an email to Axios he did not "believe there's been a formal announcement regarding any new specific brewery coming to Parker. If that's the case, we wouldn't be able to comment at this time."
- Brewery co-founder Sean Buchan did not return Axios' call seeking comment.
- Requests for comment through Cerebral's Instagram pages went unanswered.
What's next: East Main broke ground last year and is slated for completion in the third quarter of next year.
- Confluence's website lists an estimated completion next summer.
Editor's note: This story has been updated to include a response from a Town of Parker spokesperson.
