What Gregg Popovich learned at the Air Force Academy

Some of the lessons learned in Colorado Springs extend outside the classroom.

Flashback: When San Antonio Spurs' then-head coach Gregg Popovich addressed cadets during his 2019 induction speech for the Air Force Academy Athletics Hall of Fame, he reflected on how his period at the school — he graduated in 1970 — shaped his career.

What he said: "There was no bigger wise guy than me upon entering the academy, and to this day, I think back to all the lessons that I learned there that have informed me and helped organize my life in this profession," Popovich said.

"I couldn't be more proud of having graduated from the academy, and being honored right now is very special."
