The U.S. Air Force Academy's new Hosmer Visitor Center is off I-25 Exit 156 for North Gate Boulevard, just outside of the North Gate security point.
If you go:
Open 9am-5pm daily
Admission is free.
What to expect: Follow a cadet's journey from day one of basic training to the iconic graduation hat toss and Thunderbird flyover.
Exhibits spotlight academy life, class history, cadet uniforms and insignias.
You'll complete the experience inside the gift shop (naturally), packed with Falcons swag.

The vibe: The aviation theme is everywhere — from the wing-shaped exteriorto contrail-inspired details streaking across the lobby.
Between the lines: The center honors Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Bradley Hosmer — the academy's first graduate and later its first graduate to serve as superintendent.
The intrigue: A bridge links the visitor center to Hotel Polaris, where you can book time in a real flight simulator.
