Colorado Springs landmark Navajo Hogan reopens

I finally made it to the reopened Navajo Hogan — and yes, it's worth another try.

Dig in: Hogan isn't just another bar. It's a historic and cultural landmark that went dark during COVID and only recently came back to life.

The vibe: On a recent sunny Wednesday afternoon, it was clean, calm and quiet.

• Yes, but: That's not the whole story. At night, the live music and distinct lighting change the experience and energy almost completely.

What to try: I ordered the current specialty pizza: chicken, onion and sweet peppers with a fig jam sauce.

Reality check: Sure, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I liked it, and it's distinct from standard bar fare.

When to go: Open 10:30am-midnight most nights, and until 2am Thursday-Saturday.
