Colorado's had its share of gags. But the Springs knows how to commit to the bit.
Here are a few of my local April Fools' faves:
🧻 The Weti — A good April Fools gag often has a kernel of truth. Case in point: This not-so-mythical menace tied to (very real) "flushable" wipes.
🐴 Palmer Statue replacement — A classic, recurring bit is a rumor that the iconic Palmer horse statue in the middle of Nevada Avenue is getting replaced — maybe by a statue of the old general on a bike or by Blucifer. Chaos either way.
😸 Cat park — RIP to the Indy, but its prank legacy endures ... like the one suggesting America the Beautiful Park was going to become "exclusively for the use of felines and their human companions."
