Chews + Views is back. We started with the best outdoor drinking and dining downtown and in Mt. Adams.
Now we're taking on Over-the-Rhine, where patios range from lively beer gardens to tucked-away courtyards.
State of play: We'll admit these picks lean a little heavier on the "views" than the "chews" — mostly bars with the occasional light bite rather than full-fledged restaurants.
The upside: OTR's best restaurants are just a short walk away, making these ideal after-dinner stops worth a linger.
- The vibe: Everyman beer garden.
- Why go: A former gas station turned massive covered patio with The Lübecker serving burgers and German-inspired bar bites. It's dog-friendly and one of OTR's busiest pregame hangouts.
- The vibe: Loud, social, very Cincinnati.
- Pro tip: Rooftop fills fast — go early.
- The vibe: European garden party.
- Why it pops: One of the most aesthetic patios in the city. It's built for lingering.
- The vibe: Park-side hangout.
- Why go: Open-air seating right on Washington Park's lawn — grab a drink and people-watch all evening.
- The vibe: Rustic-chic neighborhood bar.
- Why go: One of OTR's best patios — killer cocktails, fire pits, and it's dog-friendly. Plus, there's a weekend taco pop-up this summer.
- The vibe: Rooftop meets arcade.
- Why go: Duckpin bowling and games inside, plus fire pits and skyline views on the rooftop patio.
