Boulder's weed-fighting goats are back

• The herd will be on-site through next Tuesday.

Between the lines: Goat grazing is part of the city's strategy for managing noxious weeds without relying solely on mechanical or chemical controls.

What they're saying: "Goat grazing helps us manage invasive weeds while creating a unique opportunity for our community to learn about and connect with the public spaces they love," said Ariana DiCocco, city ecology lead technician.

• "The goats help maintain and support healthy native plant communities."

If you go: To celebrate the goats' return, the city is holding its annual Meet and Bleat event Saturday from 9am-noon at 1360 Gillaspie Drive.

• The free, family-friendly event offers the opportunity to pet and snap selfies with the goats and learn more about Boulder's Integrated Pest Management program.
• The west-side parking lot will be mostly closed off during the event for setup and activities.
