Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park opened Friday.
The big picture: While a late spring snowstorm prevented plows from clearing the road in time for Memorial Day weekend, crews managed to get it open before the end of May.
Reality check: Visitors should still use caution.
The Alpine Visitor Center is also open, but Trail Ridge Store is still closed.
Timed entry reservations are required from 9am-2pm.
