We've got another sampler of Boulder food news, from a fresh brunch spot to a pizza party to a one-night-only homecoming.
The big picture: It's shaping up to be a fun summer for dining in Boulder.
Here's what's cooking:
🥂 Jill's Restaurant & Bistro at the St Julien Hotel & Spa is bringing Aperol Brunch Al Fresco to Sundays starting this week.
- Think a selection of spritzes, brunch cocktails, buttermilk biscuits, blueberry pancakes, Maine lobster eggs Benedict and everything avocado toast.
- Sunday's kickoff party (11am–2pm) will include Aperol brand ambassadors and plenty of patio vibes.
- Reservations are available on OpenTable.
🥖 Boulder's Zodiac Subs is expanding with a second downtown Boulder location at 2052 Broadway, taking over the former Cristos Coffee spot.
- The sandwich shop launched its original Arapahoe Avenue location in 2020.
⛔️ One less sandwich stop: Potbelly Sandwich Works has closed its Boulder location in the Twenty Ninth Street mall.
- There's no word yet on why the shop closed or what might move in next.

🍕 A statewide pizza showdown is headed to Longmont. The first-ever Colorado Pizza Festival will be in Longmont on Sept. 5.
- More than 20 pizzerias from across the state will compete for best pie honors, with proceeds benefiting Colorado hunger-relief organizations. Tickets start at $15.
- The event will be hosted by Pizza With Purpose, a nonprofit launched by three Longmont pizza joints.
🥢 Pig and Tiger is making a one-night-only return to Boulder with a dinner takeover at the Velvet Elk Lounge on Tuesday.
- Chefs Travis Masar and Darren Chang will serve a five-course family-style Asian dinner for $70.
- Pig and Tiger gained a following as a vendor inside Boulder's Avanti food hall before opening a permanent Denver restaurant.
🇳🇵 University Hill Nepalese spot Kathi Klub has changed its name to The Yeti.
🍣 After a short wait, Wellness Counter is now open at 1117 Pearl St.
- Reservations can be made on Resy.
🍱 Temaki Joint's soft opening came with a brief intermission: The new Asian spot has temporarily closed for further renovations.
- According to signage at the restaurant, the work is expected to continue until at least Monday.
