CU announces Conference on World Affairs lineup and speakers

The University of Colorado Boulder opened registration and released the full schedule for its April 13–16 Conference on World Affairs.

Why it matters: The annual conference convenes global experts on major issues and will help launch the university's 150th anniversary celebration.

The latest: CU announced Wednesday that this year's event will feature more than 60 speakers across 50 panels on CU's campus.

This year, the CWA will also hold some events in CU's new Limelight Hotel.
CU's 150th anniversary celebration will include special panels on the university's history and legacy.

What to expect: The featured speaker, who was previously announced, is Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani advocate and the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

A special edition of Ebert Interruptus, a session created by film critic Roger Ebert, will spotlight "Namibia: The Struggle for Liberation," with director Charles Burnett in attendance.

What we're watching: The free event is open to the public, with registration encouraged, and ticket details for Yousafzai's appearance expected soon.
