In perhaps the least surprising result ever, drunk uncle raccoon won Axios' 2025 best animal poll.
The latest: Richmond's trashed panda ran away with the race, garnering almost half the vote.
- The two bison who donned CU Boulder's Ralphie mantle this year put up a good fight, but finished sixth.
- To be fair to Ralphie, this race was probably over the second Axios Richmond reporter Sabrina Moreno typed the word "splooted."
What's next: We are considering asking the raccoon to undergo testing for PEDs (poll-enhancing drinks).
What we're watching: Apparently, we need to keep a closer eye out for intoxicated wildlife in Boulder this year.
