Bob Weir, a founding member of the Grateful Dead, died Saturday at age 78.
The latest: Weir's family posted on his website that the guitarist and singer died from lung complications after battling cancer.
Zoom in: In the last decade, Weir was a staple at Boulder's Folsom Field with the Dead and Company, a band he formed with other former Grateful Dead members.
The Dead and Company ushered in the return of live music to Folsom in 2016, and they played there almost every summer thereafter through 2023.
The Boulder Theater held a tribute to Weir over the weekend, as Denver7 reported emotional Dead Heads filled the downtown theater.
